Can’t find what you’re looking for in the WPL catalog? We are able to request items that we don’t own through the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) system. This service is available to all current WPL patrons in good standing. Just email us at email@example.com with as much information about the item as possible (book title, author, ISBN#, etc.) and we will contact you if we require more information. Requests will be placed as soon as possible but may take anywhere from days to weeks to fulfill, longer if the item is coming from out-of-state.
We are happy to expand Windsor patrons’ borrowing options in this way, however, ILLs are not free. The lending library pays postage to mail us the item and we pay postage to mail it back when you are finished with it. We encourage but do not require you to donate to the library for each ILL we get for you. This will help defray the expenses, which average over $3.00 per item. Thanks for your help!
The Interlibrary Loan Program is supported in part by the Institute of Museum & Library Services, a federal agency, through the Library Services & Technology Act as administered by the Vermont Department of Libraries.
Do you know of an item that other WPL patrons might enjoy or find useful? Let us know! Log in to your WPL account in our catalog, click on the “My Purchase Suggestions” tab and enter as much information as you can – we’ll see if we can find a place for the item in our collection and let you know.
Having trouble logging in? Check out this handy brochure, and give us a ring if you still have questions!
