Monday August 11th, 7PM. Politics of Food Book Discussion Group. Milk: The Surprising Story of Milk Through the Ages by Anne Mendelson. (Meets the second Monday of each month.) This monthly group will look at the issues of how and what we eat by exploring the following topics: the history of food, factory farming and the global food trade, the locavore movement, traditional vs. western diets, and the environmental and philosophical differences between a vegetarian diet and eating meat.
