April 7th is Library Giving Day, a day to
celebrate public libraries and the many gifts they give to our communities.
This Library Giving Day, we at the Windsor Public Library (WPL) are asking for
a special gift from you towards our Lift Installation and Accessibility
Project. This project will allow Windsor residents and anyone who visits to
have full access to all that our library has to offer, including our children's
room, meeting room, historical records room and bathroom (all located in the
basement.) The Windsor Public Library has already received over $57,000 towards
this project but we need at least $50,000 more. We hope to complete the lift
installation this year.
We were so touched recently to receive an
unexpected donation towards this project from the adult children of a long-time
library volunteer. They wrote:
"Our mom... volunteered at the library
in the late 1990's and early 2000's. She died at 95 almost 5 years ago. My
sister and I saw the accessibility project and knew that would be something our
mom would have heartily supported. So we rounded up our remaining siblings and
are sending this contribution in her memory."
Our hearts were filled as we received this
donation. Do you also have a friend or family member you would like to honor
with a gift towards the Windsor Public Library's Accessibility Project? The
WPL has been serving Windsor since 1882 (139 years) and since 1902 in our
current historic building. Can you help us ensure that during our next 139
years, the Windsor Public Library is fully accessible to all? You can donate
online at https://www.mightycause.com/donate/Liftinstallation or send a check to the library at Windsor Public Library, 43
State St, Windsor, VT 05089.
We thank you so much for your
support.
