Saturday, October 25th, 10AM, Tree Identification Walk

Did you know that there are over 160 million ash trees in Vermont?  Would you know how to identify one?  Windsor Public Library is pleased to host Forester Jim Esden on Saturday, October 25th at 10am as he leads a tree identification walk in Windsor.  Jim recently led a presentation on the Emerald Ash Borer and its potential impact on the ash trees in our area.  This program is being held in an effort to assist Windsor officials in preparing for the anticipated impact of forest pests on our community forests.  The walk is open to the public, and all ages are welcome.  Learn to identify the various trees in our community, with a focus on the ash tree.  This walk is intended to be a “tree”mendous learning experience for those volunteers preparing to do an ash tree inventory in Windsor, as well as the casual walker interested in learning more about trees.  We will start at the Library at 10am and then head out rain or shine.  Don’t forget your walking shoes! Free.

Thursday, October 30th, 7PM, Shadows in the Stacks
